Sir Rodney Walker, Angela Woodcock and Peter Hood present the awards at half timeBradford Bulls hosted the second event in the series in glorious sunshine at the Grattan Stadium, Odsal. The Bulls and Wakefield supporters were entertained with three exciting relays as part of their pre match entertainment.

The first relay, 'Keeping up with Paula', had both sets of supporters cheering on their local teams. Bradford just pipped Wakefield by less than one second in the closest race of the day.

However, Wakefield gained revenge in the second event, 'Chasing Kelly', winning by a clear margin from the Leeds team.

Not to be out done by their local rivals the Leeds team claimed victory in the final relay, 'ChasingAthletes parade prior to kick off Steve', with Calderdale taking second place. All the athletes then paraded around the ground prior to the kick off to receive the applause of both sets of supporters.

The awards ceremony took place in the center of the pitch at the half time interval. Sir Rodney Walker president of the AAAs, along with Mr Peter Hood Chairman of Bradford Bulls, Mr Brian Heywood Chairman of Northern Athletics and Mrs Angela Woodcock made the presentation to the winning teams. The AAA's are grateful for the support and hospitality shown to them by Bradford Bulls and would record our thanks for a most enjoyable day.

The AAA have been left a substantial bequest by an elderly lady, Mrs Louise Pink, for a children’s programme in memory of her son Tom who was tragically killed in an accident in the early 1970’s. After discussion with our colleagues at UKA and England Athletics, we have decided to use this generous gift to fund a series of children’s relays in support of and leading up to the 2012 games in London.
