Northern Athletics hosted the Tom Pink relays within the
their Under 23 Home International at Derby on 19th August. The relays
had been fitted into the match with a 1:45 start. within the busy
programme of events. After the sunshine of Bradford earlier in the month
organisers were hopeful of similar condition at Derby however it was not
to be and within a 15 period just prior and during the relays the havens
opened and torrential rained showered down, however it did not deter the
young athletes and once again a successful event was staged. Local athletes from Derby took the honors in the opening relay ahead
of Leicester and Tamworth. they followed this up with another victory in
the second relay this time ahead of Sheffield and Tamworth once again
taking the 3rd spot. The final relay saw a very strong Birchfield team
runaway winners with Leicester and derby filling the next two spots.
